English teacher Alyona Suhodolskaya and headmaster Pasi Koski
The whole year some pupils of the Merikarvia upper level and Siikainen upper level have been working very hard: the project called "The Light of Moscow" has included different kind of studing. Students have made a book about Russian and Finnish culture and history together with Russian students. They have practised a play which based on Fjodor Dostojevsky's novel The Crime and Passion and in Merikarvia they have studied a little bit Russian language, too. The students and their teachers have organized some happenings to earn money - and of course the project has got financial support from the Ministry of Education and the townships of Merikarvia and Siikainen. At least became the day when the journey to Moscow started. The trip succeded very well. 31 Finnish students and their six teachers visited very many intreresting places for example the Hermitage in St Petersburg and the Kreml and the Circus in Moscow, but the best of all was to meet Russian friends and their families. Of course visiting to the School number 1942 was very nice too. Very many thanks to Russian friends!
